Early Numeracy

Number Sense

Students will develop a strong sense of numbers up to 10.  They will take part in various learning experiences that engage them in sequencing, subitizing, representing, describing and comparing the numbers 1-10.

Patterns and Relations

Students will use patterns to describe the word and to solve problems.  They will practice identifying, reproducing, extending and creating patterns using various manipulatives and in their daily calendar.   Students will also take part in experiences that involve them in sorting a set of objects.  They will learn how to state their sorting rule.

Shape and Space

Students will use direct and indirect measurement to solve problems. They will learn to compare objects based on height, weight, and volume.
