Parent Tips
A family atmosphere prevails at our school with the education of your child being a shared responsibility. We encourage your interest in what your child does each day and welcome your involvement in the classroom, school council, and at home.
- Ensure your child is getting an adequate nights rest. Children require 10 to 12 hours in order to appropriately function the next day.
- Children learn best when they eat a healthy breakfast and have nutritious foods for snack and lunch.
- Please ensure you are participating in the home reading program by reading with your child and discussing the text every night.
- Sight words are a necessary part of literacy. Help your child become a better reader by practicing their sight words every night.
- Your child’s agenda is the primary communication tool. Please ensure you are reading, signing and checking the front pouch daily.
- Please practice basic math foundational facts for both addition and subtraction. Dice, cards, or other manipulatives such as Lego or Cheerios are a great way to support your child. Help your child practice skip counting to develop their number sense. Please practice counting by 2's, 5's, 10's, 20's, 25's and 50's.
